- Units produced — Count completed parts, assemblies, or finished goods as they come off the line. Set a shift target as your Count Max and watch the display color shift as you close in on the goal.
- Defects and rejects — Count defective units separately from good production. Assign a warning color at your acceptable defect threshold so the display flags a quality issue before it becomes a problem.
- Shift and batch targets — Count toward a batch size or shift quota. Color-coded levels show at a glance whether you're on pace, approaching target, or have hit your number — no arithmetic required mid-shift.
- Cycle counts and inspections — Tally items inspected, cycles completed, or checkpoints passed during a quality audit or inventory cycle count.
- Downtime and interruption tracking — Count line stoppages, equipment faults, or interruptions over a shift. A running total gives supervisors a quick picture of line performance without manual logging.
- Parts in and parts out — Count components consumed or assemblies completed in separate tabs simultaneously. Each tab holds its own independent count in real time.

- Color-coded production levels — Define up to 6 count thresholds with distinct display colors. Set the display to shift from red to yellow to green as production builds toward target — or flag defect counts in a contrasting color the moment they exceed an acceptable level. Colors are configurable independently for light and dark modes.
- Shift targets with Count Max — Set Count Max to your production target or batch size. The counter stops at that number and the display color confirms you've reached it. Reset and start the next batch or shift with a single button.
- Keyboard shortcuts for fast counting — Space or Up Arrow to count up; Backspace or Down Arrow to count down. One hand on the keyboard, eyes on the line. All keys are reassignable in Settings if your workstation layout requires something different.
- Keyboard lock — Press L to lock the counter and prevent accidental counts during a break, a shift change, or a supervisor review. A padlock icon appears next to the controls when locked. Press L again to resume. Confirmation before unlocking can be enabled in Advanced Settings.
- Save and share your setup — Configure your production target, color levels, and sounds once, then save the setup as a URL via the create link icon. Share it with the next shift so they start with the identical configuration — no setup time, no inconsistency between operators.
- Multiple counters for multiple stations — Run the production counter in separate browser tabs or windows to track different lines, stations, or categories simultaneously. Each instance is fully independent with its own running total.

Production Counter — Common Questions
Can I set a production target and have the counter stop there?
Yes. Open Settings and set Count Max to your target quantity. The counter stops counting up at that number. Pair it with a color level set at the same threshold and the display changes color the moment you hit target — a clear visual signal that the batch or shift goal is reached.
Can I track good units and defects separately?
Yes. Open the production counter in two browser tabs — one for good units, one for defects. Each tab holds its own independent count. Set a warning color on the defect counter at your acceptable quality threshold so it flags visually when reject rates are climbing.
Can I use this for shift handover without losing the count?
Yes. Use the keyboard lock (L key) to secure the counter during a handover so the outgoing count isn't disturbed. Share the setup link with the incoming operator so they have the same configuration ready on their device. Note the current count manually or on a shared document before the handover, since the count lives in the browser tab and doesn't sync between devices automatically.
How do I make the count sounds louder?
Open Settings and increase the Sound Up Volume and Sound Down Volume sliders. If the built-in sounds still don't cut through your floor noise at maximum volume, try a sharper or higher-pitched sound from the 35 built-in options, or supply a custom audio file via a web-accessible URL in the Sound Up and Sound Down fields.
Can I reset the counter quickly between batches?
Yes. The Reset button clears the count back to your Count Start value. If you prefer to skip the reset confirmation prompt for faster turnaround between batches, open Settings and turn off Confirm Reset. One click and the counter is ready for the next run.
Can multiple operators use the same counter setup?
Yes. Configure the counter once — target, color levels, sounds, increment — then click the create link icon to generate a setup URL. Any operator who opens that link gets the identical configuration instantly. Each device runs its own independent count, so operators at different stations each have their own total without interfering with each other.
