Alarm Clock Help
Alarm Clock, Class Schedule Clock, and More
Help for our online Alarm Clock, Class Schedule Clock, etc. All of our clocks use the same Alarm Clock engine that we developed.
For over 20 years we have developed online alarm clocks for us and for other companies. You'd think an alarm clock is pretty simple, and yes the clock engine is but 10% of the development effort. What you don't see is the WebAudio engine for sound, the keyboard shortcuts for ease of use, the light-switch simple editor for 25 alarms, the ping alarms and two keypress alarm setting, light and dark modes, and then the 40 alarm clock features that users can tailor to suit their needs.
Whether setting up a class schedule, a lunch alarm, or just an alarm in 10 minutes, our online alarm clocks can accomplish that. Our alarm clocks let you focus on the task at hand and not the tool you use.

Action Bar

The Action Bar contains the main links to the Alarm Clock, with the Next Alarm message above it. If no alarms are set the Next Alarm message will read No Alarms Set. To it's right is the Ping Alarm message if set. The x to the right of the ping alarm lets you delete it. An x keypress or a Backspace will also delete the ping alarm.

Alarms Schedule
Set from none to 25 separate alarms throughtout the day, then save your setup for use each day. Each alarm time you can set the time, display color, alarm clock title, the alarm sound and the number of times to repeat sound and the volume. These are set via the Alarms Schedule, accessible by clicking the button under the time display.

To set an alarm just enter the time and select a sound. That is pretty much it. The other fields allow more to be set for the alarm, but you don't have to set them. As you set an alarm, the table grows. You don't have to save as everything is saved for you. If your alarms get out of order you can use the Clean Up Alarms link to fix that. Alarm clock will run fine with the alarms out of order. Here's what each field is for . . .
Time
Enter a time for your alarm. Alarm rows with no time are ignored. You can enter time in most formats, including 10 10am 2301 9:30 7p 10pm Noon Midnight as a few examples. If you have set the clock to 24 Hour format, the Alarm Schedule times will also display in 24 Hour format.
Color
This will be the color of the time display when the alarm time is reached. The default color is shown. You can change the default time color in the Advanced Settings. These woud be Time Light and Time Dark for the defaul light and dark mode colors. If you want to have your alarm clock used in both light and dark modes, be sure to switch to the other mode to set their alarm colors.
Title
If you want to change the alarm clock title, enter it here. If you leave this blank the default title for the alarm clock will be displayed. In Basic Settings you can turn off the alarm clock title if desired, and also the tagline too.
Alarm
Select from one of our 50 sounds and tunes (Preview Sounds & Tunes), or link to a sound accessible on the web.
To link to a sound file on the web, select the External Audio Link option. You will see a popup to enter a sound file link, then the link will appear under the alarm fields. The forth alarm in the Alarms Schedule image above shows what this looks like.
Cycles
This is how many times you want the alarm to repeat. Most of our sounds are designed to be looped, giving you more flexibility with your alarms.
If you enter 'loop' for cycles the alarm sound or tune will continue to play until the next alarm time, or until you turn it off by clicking the icon under the time display.
Volume
Volume setting for this alarm. The volume setting is applied on top of your overall device volume setting. If your device volume is set at 50% and the alarm volume is 50%, the resulting volume of the alarm sound will be 25% (50% of 50%).
Icon
Lets you try the alarm sound, for the number of cycles and at the set volume. Click once to start alarm, click again to stop alarm. If you just made an alarm edit you may have to click the bell icon a second time to play the alarm.
Icon
To remove an alarm. You will be asked to confirm before alarm is deleted.
Enable
Lets you deactivate an alarm without deleting it. Then later you can turn it back on.
| Tip: | An alarm does not have to have an alarm sound. In that case you can use the alarm color and title to indicate a time period. |
Ping Me Alarm
Quick reminder without editing your alarm schedule
A Ping Me alarm is a quick one-time reminder you create instantly without opening the alarm schedule. Need a reminder in 20 minutes? Type 20 and the alarm clock pings you in 20 minutes. They are for quick reminders during your day, such as:
- Check oven in 5 minutes
- Leave for meeting in 12 minutes
- Take a break in 45 minutes
- Follow up on boss email in 90 minutes
- Check upload in 7 minutes
- Wrap up work in 2 hours
Unlike regular alarms in your alarm schedule, Ping Me alarms are temporary. Once they ring, they are automatically removed.
How to Set a Ping Me Alarm
You can create a Ping Me alarm in several ways. You can click the icon and then follow the directions in the Ping Me popup. Once you understand how they work, the faster way is to just type.
The alarm clock listens to what you type. After a short pause, it tries to understand your request and automatically creates the Ping Me alarm for you – no buttons or menus necessary. When a ping request is understood: A subtle tick sound confirms it was accepted and the ping time appears below the clock display.
Type a number from 1 to 99 to be pinged that many minutes from
- 5→ping in 5 minutes
- 20→ping in 20 minutes
- 45→ping in 45 minutes
- 90→ping in 90 minutes
Or, type with m and h . . .
- 7m→ping in 7 minutes
- 90m→ping in 90 minutes
- 2h→ping in 2 hours
Or, type in a specific time . . .
- 3:35→3:35
- 930→9:30
- 930p→9:30 PM
- 9:30am→9:30 AM
- 1230a→12:30 AM
- 8pm→8:00 PM
If you type a time without am or pm, the alarm clock chooses the next future occurrence of that clock time.
Changing or Removing a Ping
Only one Ping Me alarm can exist at a time. Creating a new ping replaces the current one. To remove the current ping
- Press
XorBackspace - Click the remove icon
Ping Alarm Sound
By default, the Ping Me alarm plays the Bell sound 3 times at 80% volume. You can customize the ping alarm sound in Advanced Settings by adjusting Ping Sound, Ping Volume, and Ping Cycles. Advanced users can also link the ping alarm to sound files accessible on the web.
Ping Me alarms are intentionally simple – a quick "I just need a reminder now" feature.
Keyboard Shortcuts
The alarm clock has a few features that are linked to keyboard
- Stop Sound
Escape - Show Seconds
KeyS - Cancel Ping
Backspace KeyX
Keyboard shortcuts are just a faster way to accomplish things. Press the Escape key and whatever alarm clock sound is playing will
stop. The Backspace or X key will remove the pending Ping Me alarm. The S key will toggle seconds in the time display.
These shortcuts can be removed or set to other keys in Advanced Settings. You get there by first clicking the Settings icon under the clock time display, and then clicking the Advanced Settings link in the upper right corner of the Basic Settings. You can assign multiple keyboard keys to a shortcut.
Options
You have a couple controls over how the alarm clock is resized. You can set these in the Basic Settings area by clicking the Settings icon under the time display.

Fit Width / Fit Height
These control how alarm clock resizes when browser window changes size. Default is for alarm clock to be bound by both the window width and height.
Alarms Off
Disables all alarms, including Ping Me alarm. When checked alarms are disabled and 'Alarms Off' will show under the time display.
| Tip: | For more control of the clock's time display adjust the Time Size setting in the Advanced Settings area. There you can adjust from 35% to 300% of normal. |
Web Alarm Sounds
In addition to the Sounds and Tunes we make available, you can use sound files accessible on the web as your alarms, or for tunes to loop during a time period. You would set these in the Alarms Schedule accessible by the button under the time display.

In the above example we linked the lunch alarm to sound the cuban piano piece hosted on our website's demo folder. You set this by selecting External Audio Link as the Alarm option, and you'll be presented with a popup to enter the sound file link. Once you click Save the sound file link will show under the alarm row. You can click link to hear the sound or click the icon to edit or delete the link.
Here are two sound files hosted on our website that you can link to
to see how this

Note: The site hosting the sound file must allow the sound to be used on other websites. This is controlled by a setting called a 'CORS header' (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing). If it's not enabled, the sound likely will not play in the alarm clock even though the link works in your browser.
Alarm Clock Title
Adjust the alarm clock title to your liking. You can make these adjustments in the Basic Settings area by clicking the Settings icon under the clock time display.

Title Text
Enter a custom title for your alarm clock, up to 60 characters. Can use
and in title. If a title is not set for an alarm in the Alarms Schedule, then this title is shown.

| Tip: |
To change size of title, use the Title Size setting in the Advanced Settings area. It lets you scale the title from 35% to 300% of normal. |

You can restore your alarm clock to it's default settings by clicking the Settings icon under the clock time display. Then clicking the Restore Default Settings link. You will be asked to confirm this action.
To see beforehand your current alarm clock settings, click the Create Link icon under the clock time display.

Saving Alarm Clock Setup
When you change the Alarms Schedule or the title color, these are all setting changes, and are all stored locally by your browser. If you are the only user, and you only need one alarm clock, then there is no need to save anything, as your browser is already doing this for you.
But, when you or your AI agent discovers how useful our alarm clocks are, you may then want a Lab Alarm Clock, and a Production Alarm CLock, and then saving your alarm clock setup might become important. You can save your alarm clock configuration in a link with the alarm clock setup as part of the link. Then you can set up different alarm clocks, save the links, and when you later click on a saved link, the alarm clock is exactly as you saved it. Each time you click a saved alarm clock link, the alarm clock switches to that set of options. Save the link, click the link. That is all you have to do.

To bring this up, click on the Create Link icon under the alarm clock time display. Easy!
Custom Look & Feel
Our alarm clocks let you control 40+ different visual and functional aspects through the Basic and Advanced settings area. Advanced Settings lists out all the 40+ settings you can adjust.
Once you have set up an alarm clock for your needs, you can save your configuration in a link for later use or to share with others.

Multiple Alarm Clocks
Can you have multiple alarm clocks at the same time? Kind of, but we're not sure it makes sense to have two alarm clocks each with 25 alarms running at the same time. Our alarm clocks store their alarms and settings in shared local browser storage. If you have alarm clocks in two browser windows or tabs, the alarm clock that makes changes last wins. So, not a good experience for users. For multiple alarm clocks, we have two suggestions:
- Use different browsers like: Chrome, Brave, Firefox, and Edge Since each of these browsers use local storage separate from each other, the same alarm clock will play nice in separate branded browsers, and each would have alarms separate from each other.
- If you instead want different alarm setups, but you are only going to run one alarm setup at a time, then create different alarm clocks and save the link as a bookmark, like Monday Alarms, Tuesday Alarms, etc., then just click on the link for the alarm clock congifuration you want and the link will set the alarm clock to what you saved.
