Free Online 15 Minute Timer
Our 15-Minute Timer is setup to start with one click. Fifteen minutes is a natural checkpoint A quarter of an hour fits neatly into schedules, routines, and workflows. When fifteen minutes are up, the alarm sounds and you're done.
Timer123's timing engine counts down using elapsed time rather than interval loops, keeping your 15 minute timer on time even when your browser is under load.
What Can You Do in 15 Minutes?
Fifteen minutes is surprisingly productive across work, school, fitness, and everyday life:
- Focused study sprints — Short, timed study blocks with deliberate breaks in between are one of the most effective ways to retain information. Fifteen minutes is a good starting block for younger students or anyone returning to study habits.
- Yoga and stretching — A 15-minute morning stretch, post-workout cool-down, or midday mobility session that fits into almost any schedule. Set a calm alarm and move without watching the clock.
- Classroom segments — Individual work time, group discussions, peer review sessions, or timed assessments. Display full-screen so every student sees how much time remains.
- Cooking intervals — Checking bread in the oven, timing a simmer, or giving a marinade time to work. Fifteen minutes is a common checkpoint in recipes.
- Meeting agenda blocks — Divide a longer meeting into structured 15-minute segments, each with its own focus. The alarm signals the transition without interrupting the flow.
- Interview prep — Practice answering a question, review a topic, or run through talking points with a hard stop at 15 minutes.
- Power nap with buffer — A slightly longer rest window that still avoids deep sleep for most people. Set a gentle alarm to wake up by.
- Home tasks — Tidying a room, sorting mail, cleaning a bathroom. Fifteen minutes of focused effort on a single task gets more done than it sounds.
Customize Your 15 Minute Timer
One click starts it as-is, but we give you control when you want it. Open Settings to adjust:
- Timer title — Label the 15-minute block for context — "Study Block", "Stretch", "Agenda Item 1", "Patient Room 3". The title saves with your URL so every shared link arrives pre-labeled and ready to start.
- Alarm cycles — Set the alarm to ring multiple times at the end of the countdown. Good for a gentle wake-up from a power nap, or making sure a classroom transition alarm is heard over background noise.
- Resize for classroom display — Use full-screen mode (
F11) for a countdown every student in the room can see at a glance. - Display font and size — Adjust the time display font, weight, and size independently of the rest of the page. Great when the timer is shared on a projected screen and the default size isn't quite large enough.
- Loop — Enable Loop for back-to-back 15-minute study blocks, repeated stretching sessions, or a routine that repeats throughout the day. When zero is reached, the timer resets and restarts at 15 minutes again.
- Alarm sound — Choose from 50+ built-in sounds and tunes, or paste in a link to a web-accessible MP3. A soft chime works well for mindfulness or nap alarms;something more attention-grabbing suits classroom transitions.
- Save and share your setup — Configure once, then save and copy the URL via the icon under the timer display. Share the link and your class or team can use the timer you set up.
15 Minute Timer — Common Questions
Does this timer work on phones and tablets?
Yes. The timer works on any modern browser across desktop, mobile, and tablet. The display scales to fit your screen size.
Will the alarm sound if I switch to another tab?
Yes — whether you minimize the browser window or place the timer on another tab, alarms should sound.
Can I label different 15-minute blocks for a schedule or agenda?
Yes. Set a title in the Timer Title field — "Block 1", "Q&A", "Cool Down", or a label that fits. Save and share a separate URL for each labeled setup.
How do I make the alarm ring more than once?
Open Settings and set the Alarm repeat field to the number of times you want the alarm to cycle at the end of the countdown. Good when the timer is in a noisy environment, on a projector across the room, or as a gentle multi-ring wake-up from a short rest.
Can I use my own alarm sound?
Yes. Paste a link to a sound file accessible on the web into the alarm sound field. Make sure that the sound link points directly to an audio file (ending in .mp3, .wav, or .ogg) rather than to a web page, and that it starts with https:// — links starting with http:// are blocked by browsers for security reasons. Use the Try link to confirm the sound before you start timing.
How do I share this timer with my class or team?
Configure the timer — alarm, title, display, loop settings — then click the icon under the time display and copy the URL shown. Anyone who opens that link can then use the timer as you set it up.
